In California, has anyone taken a heavy rig (BB or otherwise) west from
Stovepipe Wells to Olancha on Hwy 190 across Towne Pass?

Thanks in advance for any feedback.

Hi Bob
I recall that route from a long time ago.
As I remember,I would not hesitate to go up that road, but I wouldn't think about it if the weather was over 80 degrees the grade out of Stove Pipe is extremely steep and very very long and the downgrade is the same,I would be worried about the ambient temp more than anything. It was not traveled much then ,so you can take all the time you need.
