Hi All,
Going to replace a few bay door hinges.
Seems like the gas shocks were too strong and ripped the rubber,
Rain water gets into the bay.
Any tips on how to remove and insert the new rubber??
Don't want to drive around without bay doors.

Bill, I just did a couple of mine. Order the hinge from BB not very
expensive. You may need help those doors are very heavy especially the
double ones!! I took the chrome strip loose from both sides (the door
and the coach) cleaned the channel really well and used silicone spray
to allow the new rubber hinge to slide in. There is a small screw that
pierces the rubber to hold it in place gotta remove it and replace
it..not too hard..For me the hard part was trying to replace the chrome
strip since it is threaded as well!!(you might get the screw tight
against the chrome but not against the body of the coach!) This has to
be done with some care because the chrome strip must be very tight
against the coach or door won't align when closing. Also there was some
sealer (mastic??) that needs to be replaced in order to insure a good
seal along the chrom to body seam..Very IMPT..get help holding the
doors they are heavy and you don't want to drop one. (body work is
expensive) Good luck not too hard of a repair..did mine in a
campground! and it was one repair that did NOT lead to another!! lol
