Golf cart battery conversion - whynotam - 06-29-2010 02:27 Has anyone done a conversion from the 8 12 volt house batteries to 6 or 8 6 volt golf cart batteries on an early 90's Bird? I have adequate pullout tray space for all but height as the 6 volt are 11" tall and won't quite fit. Any suggestions on making it work? Golf cart battery conversion - Rob Robinson - 06-29-2010 09:48 I had that job done on my 94 by Triangle RV of Sydney BC. They moved the 2800Watt Inverter up and lowered the lower tray. This made room for the taller 6 Volt Golf Carts. They lowered the bottom tray by adding two inch square tubing on each side of the tray. If you don't wish to construct such an assembly you could buy my old one. I contacted Randy Dupree to see if he'd sell it. It's for sale and you can contact him at 352 538-3435.
