Repair of Kool O Matic fan motor - KP Marsh - 08-03-2010 05:42

To all on the forum:
As all us know by now Kool O Matic Corp in Niles, MI is no longer making the RV12Fan for our coaches and has depleted the supply of replacement motors. This was a specialorder motor, 1000 rpm/ 1/10hp that is no longer being produced.
After an extensive search of the inter-net produced no results, I went to a small electric repair shop that we had used when we lived in Minneapolis, MN. He testedthe motor and determined that the armature needed rewinding. Cost was about $100.We got it back yesterday and installed it and ran it for over an hour with no problems. I did not install the speed control, just wired it directly.
So anyone having problems finding a repair facility please call Dan @ Penn Electric Motor Repair.
