Precision Temp Shower Mate - Brad - 06-08-2011 03:34

I am wanting to replace our electric hot water heater in our 78 35' FC with a
gas hot water heater. I don't want to cut holes in the side of the coach and am
looking at the "Precision Temp Shower Mate". It is a marine type unit, tankless
and zero clearance. Only 2 vents to deal with. Has anyone had any experience
with one of these units or know anyone who has? Thanks Brad Bloxham 78 FC35 W8 4

Brad,

Bob Lawrence put a tankless water heater in "Whirlybird", his PT35. Pics are in
the Photos section in an albumn named "Installing a tankless water heater". I
am sure he will willing to answer any specific questions when he sees this post.

I don't know where you are but do you really need all 3 furnaces? Maybe there is
a chance you can remove one and replace with the tankless water heater. Just a
thought. Your propane lines would be right there along with an existing vent/
fresh air intake.

Hi Brad,
I put in the RV500 model.
I did have to cut the side of the bus out to fit it, but worth it in my opinion.
Haven't used the electric unit that is in the bus for 8 years now.
But, yeah, you do have to cut the opening out for the heater.

I put a Bosch tankless unit in our class B some years ago. It vents out the top
of the rig like a house-style gas water heater. Needs no power at all. Push a
button to light pilot and forget it. Works great. Sometimes water temp varies
with amount of flow.
