Toad Information - mbulriss - 08-24-2011 09:07 Any one using a Chevy Equinox or Traverse (or their GMC siblings) as a toad? I am interested in any feedback on them if someone has one. Thinking about one in AWD. Wondering about base plates, what is involved in flat towing, etc. Thanks for any feedback. FMCA and Motorhome Mag put out a list with all the possible toads of the past and present.that hook up and go to be toaded and what is need for each model the only thing I know about your choices are that there is some fuses to take out AND you need to start the the toad at certain amount of miles driven for fluid flow. there is also a 65 MPH limit on the these. Do your homework and chose carefully using you BBMH habits. I have a tahoe and a trailblazer for toads and it is just a switch on the 4 wheel drive switch and your are all done, hook up a go

Thanks for any feedback. The owners manual state that it cannot be towed all wheels down so we abandoned the idea. It is a couple of years old so something may have changed. Some say you can tow an all wheel. Our dealer said no. Blue Ox has a frame bracket that hides in the grill. The wiring was an issue so we bought a light bar from TowMate. This is a wireless light bar that has large magnets and you put it on the rear roof. We added an additional plug in the rear of the coach for the sending unit. -- Jack and Ila VanDenBerg Po box 219 Glenn, Mi. 49416
