LXI Accessary system air leaks - cvaughn - 04-15-2013 10:59 I have an air leak in my acc. system. The chassis will hold 130 psi for weeks. The toilet circuit will hold air for two hours. The acc. circuit will hold for 20 minutes. To date I have added an extra check valve in the supply line as the 120v compressor was leaking. I assume the factory check valve has failed. I stopped leaks at the bulk head where supply goes to the acc. tank. I have removed and plugged the plumbing at the air over oil pump in the engine bay. All fittings at the dump panel have been tightened, no leaks. All three cylinders, two dump & one step appear to be holding. i.e. no air out the top or out of the unpressurized port when the hose is removed in normally closed sewer valve or normally open step cylinder. No leaks out of the electric over air solenoid under the step. All leveling valves have been removed as I use an HWH leveling system. Does anyone have any thoughts on where else to look? RE: LXI Accessary system air leaks - pgchin - 04-15-2013 11:17 Charlie, Four common causes of accessory air leaks are: 1) Air line to the pilot seat and heating controls under the dash 2) One or more of the 4 PPV valves is bad, most likely the one right on the frame high up by the air dryer. That PPV valve is right between 2 accessory blocks holding, about 8-10 lines http://www.ryderfleetproducts.com/ryder/af/ryder/core/content/product/srm/oid/48389/pn/Pressure-Protection-Valve/erm/productDetail.do the rubber diaphragm goes bad and air leaks out of the "canister hole" 3) Clippard valves and lines working the water closet, line dump valves, tank fill, line blow out, etc on or right behind your water closet operating panel http://www.clippard.com/ 4) Air lines going into the steps- BE CAREFUL HERE, 2 MERCURY SWITCHES MOVE THE STEPS IN AND OUT WITH POWER OFF AND CAN TAKE YOUR ARM OR HEAD OFF! I know you are an experienced owner so I'll say this for our other viewership, DO NOT GO UNDER THE BUS UNLESS YOU SAFELY BLOCK IT WITH 2 SYSTEMS LIKE STANDS AND HARDWOOD, ETC., have a pit , ramps , or lift. RE: LXI Accessary system air leaks - davidbrady - 04-15-2013 11:59 Hi Charlie, Pete's right on as usual. Look in our Documentation Library under 'Models/LXi/LXi Print Package'. Check out pages 4 and 5 of LXiPrintPackage#3.pdf http://www.wanderlodgegurus.com/database/Models/LXi/LXi%20Print%20Package/LXiPrintPackage%233.pdf Here you'll find a complete description of the chassis air systems on our LXi's. The pressure protection valve that Pete speaks of is number 34 in assembly number 6. |
