Hi,
It is possible to change the GPS (DVD) unit to the newer Kenwood G510. A bit of a PIA but a few owners have done it.
The disappointment is that it can not be displayed on the TV as a monitor for the co-pilot (The co-pilot seat is back farther then the drivers in a 450 and the TV is not really viewable for the driver)
With the DVD system a video cable from the GPS 4100 unit to the TV did the job. With the new G510 that is not possible and the Video out on the Amp/reciever will not option to the GPS. (Options are Off,DVD,Video in 1 and 2)
So--- a perhaps a better option would be to buy a different brand and use the Video in. I contacted Kenwood several times-- no way-- So much for trying to stay within a brand.
Having the TV as a monitor was great-- easy for co-pilot and great for trip planning on the sofa-- remote control
