FC Steering adjustments?
I would like to tighten up the steering on my 1977 FC coach. What can I
do? The drag link is tight and in good condition. Thanks, JB Lewis |

Tighten all the components, plates, from the steering box to the coach
frame rail. I did this on an earlier coach and it resolved lots of steering issues. Get underneath and you will see the bolts/nuts to tighten. About 13 or 14 if I recall correctly. Good luck! FC Steering adjustments?
Addition to previous note...when underneath, don't go by visual, put
wrenches on the nuts and bolts and they will tighten up. Curt Sprenger 1987 PT38, Anaheim Hills, Calif. FC Steering adjustments?
check the 4 bolts that hold the box to the frame
get to them under the coach and have some one crank the wheel back and forth while the bus is stopped and shut off to see movement. also can be wheel bearings loose and or kingpins bushings or spring eye bushings. IMO only...... if you have air bag ft add the pan bar that holds the axle in place for bushing wear. Hauling Wood 81fcrbsgd with some new gears and redneck bodywork and paint prep! road trip 525 miles tommorrow with fuel and speed report upcoming. - -- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "bascom1968" > > I would like to tighten up the steering on my 1977 FC coach.
