Cat Oil Filters again

I had posted some info on Cat oil filters that was in error. My 88 FC
uses the 1r0714 filters(not 1R0713). The filters that are being sold
by Cat are no longer made by Cat. According to the dealer tech rep
they are made to Cat spec. BUT I suspect they are Wix in disguise. The
old filters were awesome: One piece can, heavy die cast top and an o
ring seal. The new filters are run of the mill. He said that all the
1R series for the older engines are made by others. You may still be
able to find old stock. Of course the price is still the same!!
