Charging gauges
Scott I was wandering the same thing as I have never seen mine move.
Does any one know where they are wired into. Could my gauges be broke. Don 89 SP 36' Butler, PA What's the difference between the Amps gauge on the driver's main dash and DC Charge/Discharge gauges above the co-pilot's head? Don't these show basically the same thing? Don, Scott,
What does your Bluebook says about the two gauges? If you don't find the answer let me know and I'll take a look in our Bluebook Curt Sprenger 1987 PT38 8V92 "MacAttack Racing" Anaheim Hills, Calif. dspithaler@... wrote: > > Scott I was wandering the same thing as I have never seen mine move. > Does any one know where they are wired into. Curt Bill I guess some times just talking about something makes you
figure it out. I had wandered about those two gauges for a while but as long as the two on the dash were wworking I wasn't concerned with them till Scott mentioned them. I went out in the coach & turned the battery charger off & turned on all the 12V lights & then I saw a neg discharge & the coach load needle showed a draw. So I guess I don't do any dry camping & when we stop for the night we don't use that much electric. Bill it is like you said overkill I don't think you need those two gauges. Thanks Don 89 SP 36' Butler, PA Don, Scott, What does your Bluebook says about the two gauges? Don, Scott
Gauges on the overhead panel BATTERY CHARGE + COACH LOAD= ALT CHARGER AMPS. If they work correctly. DC Amp gauge labeled CHARGE shows net output from Battery charger or alternator to the batteries DC Amp gauge labeled COACH LOAD shows the amount of 12Volt current being consumed by coach systems. The sum of these two gauges should approximate the Alt/Charger amp reading. I.E. The alternator is feeding the batteries and the coach 's electrical appetite. If the coach and its batteries are too hungry and the alternator cannot produce enough feed, then you will be electrically dead after a while. Confused? don't feel bad, these coaches are an electrical researchers dream. Guys:
If you want to see how it is hooked up electrically, I will be posting the electrical diagram for the 1991charging circuit mid June, I would do it earlier, but the wife took the computer with her on a vacation LOL Bill 84 FC 35 SB "$quanderlodge" Terrace, B.C.
