Safety on the way to RITV

The sad post on Les Jensen this morning should be a reminder to us all
to check the tires before starting each day, and again visually at
each stop. If you don't have an automated air pressure monitoring
system or CrossFires, please get a good tire gauge and check the air
in each tire before each day's journey. You can't spot a slow leak
visually or by thumping them with a club.

This sad occurrence is also a reminder to review the video on the
Michelin site on how to properly react to a blow out.

Dear Friends, I just arrived back from my trip and to open this are
read such sad news. You may remember my post of the last several
weeks in regard to the purchase of new tires (even against the tire
shops advice). My bus performed well and my wife and I arrived home
safely. My thoughts are that it could have been me as well. The
information provided on this forum very well could save lives and I
can not express how sorry I am to hear of the loss of this man's
life. Not to assume that this was preventable or a result of anything
more then bad luck, but it does certainly bring to the fore that
things do happen each and every day on the highways. I did not know
Les or his family but I extend my sympathy and concern for a friend
in spirit. And I also extend a thank you to all of you who have
helped me and who have made true efforts to see that I am doing it
correctly and safely. Thank you all and again my sympathies to the
family and friends. John Heckman

Yes, I had always heard that no one had ever been killed in a Wanderlodge.
There is a bid difference in how fast things happen at 70 vs 55. Very
tragic and my condolences go out to his wife and family.
