Starting Problems
Quite often I am unable to srart my coach ('85 PT36) from the front
position. When that happens I have been able to start from the rear position. The first thing I suspected was the rear toggle switch. That has been eliminated as has the anti theft switch on the dash. If I disconnect the wires from the a/t switch I can see 12v coming from the front ignition sw. when turned to the 'start' postion. I can also see the ground coming from the starter ckt. solenoid on the other wire. So it appears I have good circuitry. This problem seems to happen when the batt. voltage is below 12v. If I start the generator, with the increase in voltage I can start it normally from ther front. Could I have a weak solenoid? Where is this solennoid located? Located in the 'files' section is a diagram of the start circuit for my coach. This is what I've been working from. Art Weatherly Riverside Ca. '85 PT36 Anyone have any thoights on this problem. |

Starting Problems
I don't know if this will help or not.
Recently, my starter was acting up(or so I thought). The coach finally went dead while starting it. My manual battery master switch was failing and finally burned out. I replaced it and cleaned all the main grounds around the engine. The starter really spins the engine now. It started fine last weekend without preheat at 29 degrees. I think my solenoid is on the right side of the engine up about half way in the engine bay. Leroy Eckert 1990 WB-40 Smoke N Mirrors Dahlonega, GA amweath
