Dingy Odometer Reading

I am going to tow a dingy for the first time next week and am
wondering if there is any way to keep the odometer from recording the
towed mileage. The car I will be towing is a 1990 Acura Legend.

Roy,
According to my factory Acura information system, the
power for the speedometer comes through fuse #9 in the dash
fuse box, which is hopefully powered by the ignition switch.
If the ignition switch is off, the speedometer doesn't work.
If it's an automatic, do you know "the procedure" for
towing it without transmission damage?

Thankyou for reply. I checked fuse box but it doesn't number
the fuses and none of the descriptions for what the fuse controls indicates
speedometer. I assume it is a Federal thing to avoid tampering with
odometer reading. But that gives me a direction to go so I will have to try
pulling and test driving till I get the right one.
