Battery charging problem
I have a Freedom 25 inverter/charger with the remote panel. Since I've
had this coach starting the generator has always initiated battery
charging. The remote graph would show carging at 70 or 80 amps at
14.5 volts. This rate would continue for at least an hour at which
time the charge rate would drop to about 40 amps. Later on the rate
would drop to 10 or 20 amps.

Now the initail charge rate is about 40 amps for about 5 min. Then the
rate drops to 20 amps. My batterys are not getting carged. They won't
start the coach.

Is my inverter charger faulty? I don't know. Any ideas would be welcome.

Art, .Xantrex freedom support is an online page that has specifications ,glossary ,trouble tree ,and frequently asked questions. thier trouble shooting link from that page seems way cool as it require realtime participation this would work great with a laptop or blackberry.

To me it sounds like the charger is no longer connected to the battery for some reason. or the batteries are faulty. I would run the charger and read the first negitive post and last positive post on a bank for voltage with a multimeter. Then turn charger off and read the same post locations. then I'd look at the actual reading on the output of the charger at rest and charger turned on while hooked to batteries. the increase of volts wile running the charger will tell you that the charge is reaching that point.
