We have two of this particular kind. One in the water/sewer
compartment and one beneath the medicine cabinet in the hall bathroom.
I believe they are some kind of LED. The water pumps both work fine
but the 2 bulbs are out. Where to get more bulbs? How to remove and
replace? Thanks.

I removed my burned out pump pilot bulb in the utility compartment and
found a replacement 12VDC LED at Radio Shack that snapped right into
the hole. Be sure to follow the correct poliarity (+/-) when connecting
the new one.

If the light is about 1/2" in diameter, it is a regular bulb, not an LED. These are available at Radio Shack in a variety of colors (you replace the whole assembly, as the bulb is not accessible). They're only a couple of bucks.

Here's one that is an LED with a fuse holder:

OK, Thanks. I started tinkering around and figured out that you
couldn't just screw the amber lens off so I removed the switch plate.
It looks like the amber lens assembly slips on to a plastic sleeve
that must contain the diode or the bulb. At the terminal end of the
plastic sleeve there are what appear to be 2 compressible retention
clips, 180 degrees apart, that would hold the Amber lens on. I don't
have the tool for that if there is such a thing, and I am afraid to
break it. Do you know what I need?

I simply replaced the whole assembly. Indeed, when I had a service at CCW last spring, they found the outside pump light (in the utility connection compartment) had gone bad, and they just swapped in a new one. There were 'pigtail' wires on the one I had that were clipped and butt connected. But some have the slip on 'ears' that take the wires.

I didn't bother trying to open it up to then find a replacement bulb. It might have been replaceable, but there was the hassle of disassembling to get the old lamp holder out, then disassembling the lamp holder, identifying the bulb, seeking a bulb replacement (it could be 50 cents or $5, who knows?) and so on. The technician at CCW said they couldn't be opened without destroying them. I noticed that the replacement they made didn't even show up on my bill (nice, as the bill was plenty high). The technician had the panel out for another reason (which I was billed for)...

Some of these cheap little things can be a surprise -- I had an LED "flashlight" that hooked to a key ring. I'd received it as a freebie at a trade show. It finally quit, but it was assembled with screws -- I got to the battery (it took four) and went to Radio Shack -- and the 4 button batteries would have been over $20 -- but you could buy similar lights for $5.... (I tossed it out as I have several similar ones also gotten at trade shows as give aways.)
