Front step
So, I'm narrowing down the issues with my recent purchase (which I am
still quite happy I made despite the little problems). My front step does work (most of the time) but that's not the issue. The step droops to starboard quite a bit. Plus, it kind of droops forward as well. While the step still works, it would be nicer if it were squared up. Is there an easy fix or does the step need to be replaced? As always, thanks in advance for the help. Jerry 85 PT40 Port Hueneme, CA |

The 94 pt locks to a cam over nest so if out of alignment it is
tweeked. if the ram that pushes the step out wont hold air for the full push it wont cam all the way to a rest and you can pull it to a nested rest with your hand otherwise it kinda floats against the air ram. but for the most part it opens pantographic. one member "Tiger" in a 91sp parked next to a high curb for the night. At morning light he was surprised to see the bus hung up on a curb pivoting off the step. It seems the pressure droped in the bus which prompted the step to be pushed out automatically. then the airbags dropped lowering the bus step on over the curb. Greg ofTim&Greg94ptca --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, Leroy Eckert > > I presume your step is air operated? Mine is. If you look at the design from underneath the step you will see the air actuator. It is attached to a center section that moves the step in and out. When the step is completely extended the center section actually goes over center providing a locking effect similar to an aircraft landing gear drag link. If the air goes down, the step will not move in this configuration. You might check and see if the actuator is adjusted so that complete extension is achieved. Drooping forward to back may be another problem such an it getting tweaked along the way. You can manually move that step in and out by disconnecting the actuator. In that case you will be able to view the alignment when moved in and out. > Caution. Use extreme care when under that step. It can whack you. > Leroy Eckert > 1990 WB-40 Smoke N Mirrors > Dahlonega, GA > Royale Conversion > > --- On Tue, 2/17/09, jburgessx2 > From: jburgessx2 > Subject: [WanderlodgeForum] Front step > To: WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com > Date: Tuesday, February 17, 2009, 10:42 PM > > > > > > > > > > > > > So, I'm narrowing down the issues with my recent purchase (which I am > > still quite happy I made despite the little problems).
