Electric heat

Ok, I am need of some direction. We are in the middle of setting up a
huge sale this weekend and don't have time to spend in a long
troubleshooting procedure. We have basically moved into the coach and
this morning it was a bit nippy so I tried to turn on the electric
heaters. The one in the bathroom worked correctly, however the one in
the galley did not.

This is a '95 WBDA 4203.... I switched the thermostat over from the
"cool" setting to the "heat" setting and could hear the relay under
the galley click, but the heater failed to come on. Then I remembered
that the front A/C and the galley heater shared a C/B and that the
Front A/C master (on the drivers left panel) needed to be on.
However, when I turned it on, the compressor for the front A/c came
on. I tried switching the thermostat to heat; To off, and all other
variations. Even turned the center thermostat to the off position.
The front A/C compressor still came on whenever the A/C master was
turned on.

So as to get some heat in the coach this morning, I turned on the
Aquahot and it worked normally.

Later in the morning, I tried again and with the front thermostat on
either heat or cool, the front compressor still comes on with the
front A/C master. Seems like there must be a changeover relay
someplace that is stuck. I don't know where it might be and am too
busy to chase it right now. I am in hopes that Jeff or Ralph might
know exactly where to look. Or tell me that my thinking is completely
wrong...

George: Sorry, Iam not Jeff or Ralph but, I'll tell you what work's
for me. In our 93 we have a low power light on the a/c thermostat,
there is a switch below this that move's left and right. I move this
switch to the low side and the a/c compressor will not come on and the
heater work's. Don't ask me why. It just work's for me....Bob 93pt

You're almost there. Simply turn the A/C Thermostat off on the
middle thermostat in the galley. Then with the center switch turned
on on the dash, you should have your heat. That is, if you have a
heater in the galley. On my 92, I have electric in the bath and at
the front dash only. If that's your case, then turn on left switch
on the dash and turn off the thermostat above the driver's seat.

Hi Ron, & Bob,

Solved part of the problem. Ron was correct in that I needed the
"Center master switch" in the on position to get the electric heater
to work. So that part does work. And the wife thanks you. I guess I
am getting senile and forgetful - I was sure it was the front switch
that was needed.

I still have the problem that the compressor on the front A/C runs
when the front master is turned on. It made no difference on the
position of the controls on the front thermostat. The only thing the
front thermostat seems to control is the blower for the front A/C. I
can control the speed of the blower or it works in auto. The blower
runs only when cool is selected on the right selector switch. The
power switch on the thermostat will turn the blower on or off but has
no effect on the compressor. The Front A/C master is the only thing
that will turn the compressor off. Again, I am figuring it is a stuck
relay. Any ideas as to where it is, if that is the problem.

BTW, I do not have a low power light on the thermostats. There are
four controls. Fan speed, vertical operation, (lo, med, hi, and auto)
on the left side; Power (on and off) a slide switch at the lower
middle; Mode switch, vertical operation, (Cool, fan, fan, & gas heat)
on the right side; and the temperature control across the top.

With all the variations BB has used over the years, I know it can be
difficult to identify the equipment sometimes. I hope this helps
someone who is more knowledgeable than I. (which isn't difficult)
