Braking?

Greetings group!
Another probing question from a wannabe. What interplay is there between a jake
brake and a tranny retarder? Is one used in lieu of the other or can they be
used to complement one another? Are there any other performance differences
between an '83 PT35 and an '84 PT36?

There is no interplay between the two. And, yes, they can be used to
compliment each other.
On performance differences, the only thing that comes to mind is 30HP. But,
I don't remember when DD upped the HP. One engine was red(300HP) and the other
was the silver(330HP), with some internal differences.
