Gen Battery

The battery on my genset has bit the dust. I have a gas Onan 6.5K in a 1977 FC.
I previously had a 12 volt 24F-3N from Wal-Mart with a CA of 720 and CCA 600.
Would like to know if any one has any idea of what Onan or BB specified to use
with this genset. This batt has always started fine, but I am not sure if it is
to large,(amp wise, etc.)for the gen to keep it charged, or do I need something
a little smaller, or maybe a little larger. Thanks in Advance, George Burke 1977
