For those heading to South Padre

For those heading to South Padre
Just FYI for all the folks headed to South Padre, if you take 37 out of San
Antonio down to 77, there was very light traffic most of the way on Monday night
and Tuesday. There was good-to-excellent 'police protection' on 77 from Corpus
to about Riviera in those lower speed zone areas. The normal state trooper just
north of Raymondville was on his post when we came through there.

The biggest thing of note was that there are several road construction zones on
77 with concrete barriers out on the center line, and no reduced speed limit
signs(!), but much of the remaining driving lane had some real rough spots on
Tuesday so slowing way down is in order - even though four wheelers are still
trying to fly through at 75.

And of course, Park Road 100 to the island is still a speed trap in every little
town.

More importantly, it was 88 when we arrived on Tuesday. Cold front came through
last night so it's only in the 60s today, but sunny.

Nice to hear that you kids made it safe and sound. And that our homeland security is ever vigilent in their ways of keeping the peace.
