video switching
Does anyone know how the video is switched between the TV and rear
view camera, I assume there is a relay or something like that, but you
know what they say about "assume". Also where is it located. Mine will
switch from TV to camera, but most of the time when I switch back I
have no TV signal.

video switching
Hi Bruce:

PMMI modified a Hitachi CT 911 model for the combo tv/back up monitor. The
relay that does the switching is a small silver unit on the upper right
side of the main board. Part of the gain circuit was modified as well. The
relay that was used seldom "retires" so let's go another step at this point.
Question, has the camera been changed at any time? Was there a video
reversing mod done with 2 Bosh relays? This area will give you more grief
than the one on the mother board. Another area is the plug on the back of
the chassis and wiring. Or the coax connector on the back of the chassis.
On the plug, check the red and brown wire and also the white ground to the
chassis. If the reversing mod was done, check the wiring on those relays as
well and more than likely one of those relays has failed. If you look in
the files section, there should be a manual for the reversing mod that I
wrote and it will give you some of the wiring to the chassis and also the
relays.
