Lone Star Birds Holiday Happening Rally
OK gang, it's that time of year again. We are now within 30 days of
the event, and we need a head count for the Lone Star Birds Holiday Happening Rally on December 2-4. This is open to all. You don't have to have attended an LSB Rally before to attend. It takes a lot of work and we need a head count now to finalize what we are going to have this year. For those of you that have never attended, the Lone Star Birds is a group of BB owners from Texas and surrounding states that have about 4-6 rallys per year around Texas. The Holiday Happening is typically one of the largest. Last year we had about 20 coaches show up. Friday night is typically a barbeque cookout. The Holiday Feast on Saturday last year was fried turkeys, spiral cut hams and all sorts of accompanying dishes. A gift exchange (with claim-jumping rights!), a Saturday night Holiday parade in the local town, a late Saturday night dessert feast and a Sunday potluck breakfast rounded out the weekend. We are in the final stages of planning this one and we need an accurate count - ASAP. You need to contact the Top of the Hill RV Resort in Boerne, Texas and make your reservations ASAP. You can make reservations at 830-537-3666. You must notify them that you are with the Lone Star Birds Rally. You will receive the Rally rate if you show up a day or two early, or stay a day or two after, to explore the Hill Country of Texas or San Antonio Riverwalk. If you have not signed up yet, please do so right now before you forget. Please drop me a note to let me know that you have made reservations and how many people are attending with your coach. As usual, Rally costs will be pro-rated among the attendees. You need to bring a gift (not to exceed $10) for each person attending. Also plan on bringing a dish for the potluck breakfast. Please contact me with any questions. Thanks, Mike Bulriss 83 PT40 "Stagecoach" - *Still For Sale* 91 PT40 "Texas Minivan" San Antonio, TX |

Lone Star Birds Holiday Happening Rally
Just a reminder that the Lone Star Birds Holiday Happening Rally is
coming up on December 2-4. We have 15 Birds registered now and it is open to all Birds. Spots are filling up fast and many regular LSB attendees have not registered yet, so you need to do so ASAP so that we can finalize, menus, plans, etc. Go to http://www.topofthehillrvresort.com to register and tell them that you are with the Lone Star Birds Rally. Rally rate is good for several days before and several days after the event, if you want to hang around and explore the Hill Country of Texas. We have some Birds coming in as early as Wednesday right now. Thanks, Mike Bulriss 83 PT40 "Stagecoach" - FOR SALE - Partial Financing Available Now 1991 WB "Texas Minivan" San Antonio, TX |

Lone Star Birds Holiday Happening Rally
Well, we have 21 of the 20 reserved hilltop spaces filled! :^o
We have a tentative hold on about 5-10 more pull-thrus, grouped together down one terrace on the hillside. You need to reserve your spot ASAP if you have not already done so. Notify me when you make your reservation, please. We have started buying the turkeys and hams!! The official Rally dates are Dec 2-4, but Birds start arriving on November 30. The discounted rally rate is good for two days before and two days after, if you want to explore the Hill Country of Texas. Closer in toward San Antonio, The Shops at La Cantera have also opened nearby the RV park, behind Six Flags, with all the 'elite' yuppy stores to make all the women happy (Tiffany, Needless Markup Apple). We have Okies and Cajuns joining the Texas contingent. Where are the New Mexico and Arkansas Birds? Too bad Birtles timed his southern trip too early! Lone Star Birds Holiday Happening Rally
Mike,
Judy says it is a go! I just don't know when, on Friday, we'll be able to leave. I called TopOfTheHillRVResort and made a reservation. Is there anything we can bring, contribute, collect, scrounge, beg, borrow, buy, bum or otherwise acquire for this event? Thanks, Bob & Judy Johannesen --------------------------------- Yahoo! Lone Star Birds Holiday Happening Rally
Well, we had 22 Birds and a total of 47 total attendees show up for
the 21st Lone Star Birds Rally. It wore my wife and myself out, but it sure was fun! Birds started arriving last Wednesday and the last one out will leave tomorrow (Tuesday). Two Birds arrived Wednesday, seven more on Thursday and the rest on Friday. The Friday night cookout was well attended and the food was great. The weather was most cooperative, reaching the 80s on Saturday for the turkey frying and holiday feast. The dessert feast on Saturday evening was outstanding - let's see, I had chocolate pie, lemon ice box pie, Italian Cream wedding cake and washed that down with some chocolate covered chocolate cheesecake, -- urp, excuse me. They were all really small slices though. Really.... well, at least compared to the mammoth piece of Italian cream cake that skinny Marabito consumed! The potluck breakfast on Sunday had huge amounts of delicious food. Even though we pawned off as much food as we could on everyone as they left, we are going to be eating leftovers for a while! Since we had numerous first time attendees, we had coach tours and Ron Marabito got pictures of all the attendees in front of their respective Birds. Hopefully, he will post a collage of the shots soon. Saturday also provided lots of time for the ample number of repairs that were needed. Let's just say that a head plumber was needed by several attendees. The long distance award was to Kent and Leann Johnson from Montana, who also happened to win the door prize, which was graciously donated by Ralph. Kent and Leann are on their way to Baton Rouge as Red Cross volunteers. Spaking of Louisiana, the Gureaskos will cross the border one more time and be the hosts (yeah that's right, the Cajuns! with their "gotta wear shades" Bird - hosting an LSB Rally. We're getting way too liberal!) The next LSB Rally will be in February, so mark your calendars. Thanks to all the elves that helped out in making this rally a great one! We really appreciated it and it was great to see everyone. Glad it's done, Mike Bulriss 1983 PT40 "Stagecoach" - For Sale - Financing Available 1991 WB40 "Texas Minivan" San Antonio, TX |

Mike, Thanks to you and Sue for going the extra mile in your efforts. If
anyone has not experienced a Lone Star Bird rally, this should be on your must attend list. Brenda and I look forward to the next rally. Ernie-83pt40 in texas [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

Lone Star Birds Holiday Happening Rally
This is the first notice that the Lone Star Birds year-end Holiday
Happening Rally has been scheduled for the weekend of November 30 thru December 2, 2007. Location is Buckhorn Lake RV Resort in Kerrville, Texas right off IH-10 at Exit 501. They are taking reservations now at (800) 568-6458 or online at http://www.buckhornlake.com/ . The resort rally rate is $26.00 per night. You *must* specify that you are with the Lone Star Birds Rally to get the rally rate. You can use that rate for an additional 3 nights, either immediately before or immediately after, the official rally dates. Buckhorn is one of the finest RV resorts in the country and there are plenty of nearby attractions if you come early or stay late (see http://www.buckhornlake.com/attractions.htm). If you want to attend without a coach, I noticed this past weekend that they are nearing completion on three new guest cottages. I do not know the rates or availability on those right now. **Please let me know when you register.** Either email or by entry in the Rally Sign-Up Database of the forum. Note: We need a fairly early head count for accurate planning on a couple of items. More information will be posted in the near future about the schedule and the projected rally rate per coach or per person. Tentatively, the schedule will include a cook out Friday night, full breakfast buffet Saturday morning, coach tours on Saturday morning, catered dinner Saturday night followed by a party and gift exchange, and the traditional LSB pot-luck breakfast on Sunday. We hope to see a lot of you there. Mike Bulriss 1991 WB40 "Texas Minivan" San Antonio, TX |

Lone Star Birds Holiday Happening Rally
Mike,
Put us down as confirmed for all three days of the event. You might recall that ToWanda made her debut appearance at your 2005 Holiday Rally without us. We were still up in Minneapolis "working for a living" but Ralph & Charolette took her down for her first appearance at a Lone Star event. We are really looking forward to being able to be there with her this time. BIG smiles! Thanks for organizing this! Ken & Patti Marsh ToWanda 89WB40 "All who wander are not lost" J.R.R.
