Brake line question?
I have a 85 Pt40, the right rear dual tire air line to the brake is
leaking air at the fitting where the rubber hose goes into the brake assembly. I was able to put a hose clamp on it to get it home but now I have to fix it. I was wondering before I tear into this job: how is the line connected? is it a permanent fitting, a compresion or what? and how is the best way to get it off? Do I have to take the entire line off? any insight would be greatly appreciated. I am sure there are many here that have had the same problem. Thanks. John Mann 85 pt40 Granbury Tx. |

Brake line question?
John,
The ends are permanently attached to the hose. One end of the hose should have a swivel fitting. Take that off first, then the other end. Take the hose with you to a heavy-duty truck dealership or parts store, and with that and about $5 you can get a new one. David,Chris and Randy Thanks for the replys
I put the new brake line on today works great also got a spare, thanks for the input. Other than alot of grease and a few crawls under the Coach it was real easy.
