Joe Frost Update - was Re: Beds
Joe,
Now that you are traveling again, any chance to make time in your busy travel schdule to attend some of the Lone Star Birds events? Marabito is hosting the next one in April at Buckhorn Ranch in Kerrville. Hope to see you there. My wife (sitting 3 feet from me - she says Hi) can forward me four things and I'll get two of them. Same ISP, same sender, but some things make it through and some don't. > > As you know but some here may not, I'm not new to Birds. I had a 1990 40' Wanderlodge which I had them build special for me. It was wonderful but I got real sick and we didn't know if I would live, much less be able to travel in an RV. So we sold it. But this last summer we took a car trip from San Antonio to Montana, then to Wyoming, then Bakersfield, CA, then Portland, then the Olympic Peninsula, then back to Missoula, then to Rocky Mountain National Park, and finally back to San Antonio. We found ourselves looking longingly at RV parks the whole way wondering if they had 50 amp service, WI-FI and which sites would get clear satellite reception. > > We began looking for a used rig when we got back. And we bought our current coach from Bleakley. We had it loaded. We have dual DirectTV satellite, Directv internet, a washer/dryer, a couple of slides and all the other bells and whistles available. Oh, and a Select Comfort bed. There are a few problems. We got a Brake Buddy. Maybe not that brand, I forget, but we've never been able to make the damned thing work. Also we have a LOT less counter space than we had in the old RV. I can't see any way to increase it but I want to get someone with a good imagination to look at it. I thought the extra 3 feet would help but that gave us a full toilet and vanity where before we just had a toilet stall, and an extra cabinet across from it. And that's it. So when we get back from the World Figure Skating Championships in Calgary in late March (flying) we are heading east to Georgia to see what can be done. Then it's west and north and eventually to Alaska this summer. And Joy has a hankerin' to go to Inuvic, 470 miles north of Dawson City on a dirt road. But they have a motel with high speed internet there! > > So we'll be checking in with the forum from time to time. We don't do much work at all on our own coach but not all the conversation here is how to do things. > > Regards. > > Joe Frost, 2003 43' Wanderlodge > > > >>Re: Beds > > Joe: Something is wrong in the email services then, because I did > welcome you the day you joined.
