Hot Water Valves
When we were going to the 2004 RIV, we stopped at a rest area and noticed
coolant coming from the right curb side of the engine. One of those hoses sprung
a leak. Since It was warm out, and we didn't need chassis heat, just turned
them off. Fixed that at a later date.

Hot Water Valves
Ralph,
Standing at the rear of my 86 8V92 PT40
there is four hot water valves that can be turned off. Can you tell me what each
valve goes to.

Hot Water Valves
Hi Howard:

There are two separate hydronic heat paths, though they are interrelated.
It is like a ho gauge train track set up with a switching track in the
center. The valves on your right ( both of them ) go to the heater cores.
The ones on the left go to the water heater. Each side had a flow and
return line. With the valves open ( all 4) the heater cores are by passed
by the position of the summer/winter switch and the Sporlan valves at your
left hand, or is put into the hydronic heat path. With the switch in the
summer position, the flow only goes through the left hand 2 valves. The
front heater core is controlled by a separate Sporlan valve.

In short those are the manual shut off valves for the hydronic heat and
hydronic water heat systems.

Safe travels,

Howard: I have 2. They shut off the hot water to the front heater core, near
the co pilot side of the coach. I turn mine off in summer.
