What Fred Vandenburg said
Most of you know Fred Vandenburg stopped by to talk to the group then
answer questions that we might have about where the company was going under the new ownership. He spoke on company vision for 4-5 minutes then the rest of the 45 minutes or so was Q & A on things like did he ever read messages on the Wanderlodge Forum, or did he know that Blue Bird was price gouging on it's parts business, to Back pedaling some when asked about his article about servicing only later model coaches. If you had a fear that Wanderloge was dying that may have been allayed somewhat as Blue Bird got a jolt then revived set focus on how to stay alive. Whether you had an older model or newer model I believe you would have walked away feeling better about owning a Wandelodge. Here are some things I recall and do hope that they are factual, also, should any who attended that meeting see an error or care to add a comment, please feel free to do just that. *Brenda Rodgers has been re-hired *Wanderlodges will no longer be cookie-cutter made, each will be one- off with customer sitting down face-to-face with requirements then culminate with a deposit. * Regional authorized service centers will be established to serve prior customers and promote new customers. * Bennie and Earl could possibly go on 900 numbers *Parts business will be released to an outsider only over Earl Davis' dead body. *Blue Bird will have For Sale by Owners website. (along with this I would almost be willing to bet they will take a trade-in on a new coach) *A coach can be brought in to become factory certified with limited warranty. *Blue Bird will shoot for the market up to the Prevost Motor Coaches. Although this is not first hand information for many of you I do hope you now have a better feeling that Wanderlodge is here to stay. I know you won't read this Fred but thanks for stopping by, enjoyed your visit. Bob Janes |
