boondocking in cold weather?

I'm planning a trip from NY to Fl. in Feb. The temperatures could be
low when we leave and the first day or to. It got me thinking as to
what temperature should I keep the generator going to keep power to the
freeze heaters? Do I need the freeze heaters energized when going down
the road? Or boondocking? How cold do those nooks and crannies where
the pipes are get when the outside temp. is cold and heat is on inside?
I'd like to hear what others have done, and hopefully not learn the
hard way!

Wish I was heading south!!! I posted a file on what I do on
the wanderlodge_FC group a while back which may help (works for me,
but I am no expert) but in brief:
1: protect blk/gry waste tanks from freezing with rock salt or red
RV antifreeze. 2: Get the bus heated and keep it heated in freezing
weather...electric and/or LP and when on the road use the chassis
heat...do not park bus and let it cold soak or turn heat down when
your off the bus. I do keep the vanity access door and kit. cab door
open to let heat in. 3: at a RV park, fill your tank, dump waste
and put everything away as dry as possible, do not leave out for any
length of time or you will really have a problem with your
water/waste hose -- talk about hard water!
