total heater success--(Was: Martin wall heater fan problem)
Hi again, folks--
All problems solved. The original thermostat was defective. And, an experienced electrician now working at our local hardware store told us even he had a lot of trouble interpreting the wretchedly executed diagram we shared with you all. The guy fixed us up with the right thermostat, which also came with clear wiring diagrams and real instructions (it's for a different make of heater, but works wonderfully). As earlier mentioned, the new heater neatly slides right into the existing space. Stew hooked it all up in no time with narry a hitch. We happily now have an updated, more efficient, much quieter electric heater purring away in the bathroon and on an automatic thermostat. Details: Heater: Marley Model R1500T2 Fan Forced Wall Heater (about $220) Thermostat: King WT-2 (Accessory for the W Series Heater--In-built Thermostat Kit for King Model W Electric Wall Heater-Double Pole--$19) We don't have the bone-chilling temperatures and jaw-dropping snow levels some of you are now dealing with, but that heat nevertheless sure feels good 'n' toasty even where we are! Our best to everyone having to deal with all that severe weather, and may this information be of help to someone!
