A Message from the Yahoo Group Team
The message below my signature was at THE Yahoo group management site
http://blog.360.yahoo.com/y_groups_team

Simply stated, like almost every group on Yahoo, there are many
members of the WanderlodgeForum that are "bouncing". As of this
morning, 175 to be precise. "Bouncing" means that you signed up to
receive individual email messages, special notices, or digest delivery
of the individual forum posts, and the email address you signed up
with is rejecting or 'bouncing' these emails and sending them back to
Yahoo. It maybe that you changed email addresses and did not update
your membership record, or it may mean your email box is full, or
other service provider problems. This creates a tremendous problem
for Yahoo when over 10% of our members, just as an example, are
bouncing. Yahoo will soon begin automatically deleting bouncing members.

I recognize many of the email addresses that are bouncing, so I'm
hoping members will see this message and rectify this. WE can not fix
this for you. You may find that you will be automatically deleted from
this group as well as other Yahoo groups, so please know it wasn't me
or any of the other moderators. If you get deleted, please feel free
to sign back up, but make sure you adjust your settings and update
your info to include a working email address.

To fix the "bouncing" issue:
a member may always send reactivation requests to themselves from the
Email Preferences section of My Groups. To get there, go to:

http://groups.yahoo.com/mygroups

Go there and click on My Email Preferences on the right side of the
top section to see your bouncing history. If you need to fix an email
address, click on Edit My Groups to see all of the email addresses
that you signed up with and to update them.

Follow the instructions, and your messages won't bounce anymore.
Verify that you have a valid, working email address with your account.

This goes specifically for those that do not have a yahoo email
address. For some reason or another, non-yahoo email addresses seem to
be bouncing more and more lately.

The message from THE Yahoo Group Team is below.

Bouncing Member Clean Up

If you've noticed a change in the total number of members in your
group, don't fret; we're cleaning up long time bouncing members. In
the first phase of this clean up we're removing just email-only group
members whose email addresses have been bouncing for more than a year.

In the next phase of the clean up we'll focus on web-access members
whose emails have been bouncing for more than a year. If you have
members that fit this description encourage them to update their
membership with a valid email address.

*** Additional Clarification ***
Because there seems to be some confusion, I wanted to clarify that
during the first phase of this clean up, we are just removing
email-only members whose emails have been bouncing for more than a
year (which means these members wouldn't have seen a message for over
a year). If a member is reading emails online within the group, they
are web-access members and won't be affected in this first phase. The
problem we're facing is that the sheer number of long time bouncers is
causing a drag on the system, which is why we are doing this.

For those of you who have web-access members with bouncing email
addresses please help us to actively reach out to these users and
encourage them to select a valid email address.

I hope this helps to address the majority of your concerns.
Best,
Jami Heldt

There is a simple solution to this problem, about which I recently posted. I
had the same bouncing problem for months. It is caused by your isp deciding
that you are holding to many emails in storage, (basically saying that your
mail box is full), and rejecting the email that this forum is sending via
Yahoo. I have been a member of various forums for years now, and never had a
problem until I bot a Bird, and joined this and another BB forum. The reason
I bounced was I saved a lot of the posts that you guys sent in, to help me
with later projects. I have Never been a Member of a forum such as this one,
that had so much useful information, that I felt like I needed to save. I
want to thank all of you that post for the great help, and for Ernie, Mike,
Ralph, for making such a great forum possible. Ron,Ryan,Larry, and Don, gave
me the answer to this bouncing problem in July. JOIN GMAIL. It is free, you
don't have to change your isp, and storage is for all practible purposes,
unlimited! Just go to Gmail, join, then go to your yahoo groups, hit
edit, change this forum to your new gmail address, and enjoy. Hope this
helps some of you, as I have already received a ton of info from you guys.

A Message from the Yahoo Group Team
Thanks for the kind words about the forum George.

As a point of clarification, bouncing email is not as simple as you
describe as just being due to full email boxes. Email can get bounced
for any number of reasons other than full mail boxes. My email
account for the Yahoo based WanderlodgeForum email is at a Yahoo email
address. When I checked my personal email preferences history by
following the links in my original email, even my Yahoo address showed
several "soft" bounces on my account (basically transitory bounces due
to infrequent inability to process incoming email which was later
accepted on re-tries). And that was going from one Yahoo fprim server
to another Yahoo email server! Obviously the Yahoo email server was
having minor troubles sometimes, because Yahoo Mail also offers
unlimited storage for email accounts. GMail is not unique in that
regard. Yahoo has been an excellent provider for me since they
started and I have emails in my Yahoo account datring back to 1999.

We all need to remember that the internet is a spider web highway of
many different processors that pass along email and data packets back
and forth with other nodal processors to reach their destinations. If
any of them have problems, it can have massive negative effect on the
entire internet. This happens from time to time; you get bounces and
failures to reach websites. ISPs and nodal rocessors also have down
time for upgrades, during which time some traffic can be bounced. One
of my local ISPs has connectivity problems all the time. Pending
messages for any ISP are held only so long for re-sends and re-tries
before they are bounced by other internet node processors back to the
originator. Outside of internet processing failures of course, there
are also the easily defined bounces due to the wrong email addresses
on member accounts, closed accounts, cancelled accounts, and as you
said full email accounts.

In short, there are many reasons for email bounces, but in this case
many of them are due to bad email addresses.

OK I am assuming that since I rec'd this message I am not bouncing others.

If you've noticed a change in the total number of members in your
