Alarm System Key Fobs

Received my two key fobs today. They work just OK the antenna is buried in the
front consol and being 13 year old technology It is just barley functional. If
you hold the key fob a few inches in front of the fiberglass access panel in the
middle of the coach from the outside you can activate the system. From inside I
have to hold the key fobs down by the heater opening to activate the system. Any
body have any input on this. I know that you can lengthen the antenna, but I¢ve
been told that different lengths are used for different frequencies. Maybe a
little trial and error?
