Roof Storage Pods

I kept my canoeing equipment in the pod this summer and I never
noticed any water inside it. There's a pretty big overlap of the lid.
My pod was badly cracked on the bottom when I purchased the coach and
I repaired it with epoxy and fiberglass cloth.

From the posts I read about the Walmart shooting issue, many
Wanderlodgians store their backup ammo and flack jackets in them. Wish
I had one to store our 75 pound custom canvas cover in. The cover is
too bulky and heavy to pull up top.

I use mine to store all the extra Racor filters that I have to change every 100
miles due to my 265 gallons of algea filled diesel fuel..have not noticed any
water in the box yet and the only wasps that I have live in the roof top
speakers and airhorns...

We store bird spare parts in our pod. If parts are small enough, the
wife uses the vacuum sealer bags to protect them. Bigger parts are put
in those vacuum bags that a vacuum cleaner can suck the air out of. No
problems. No bugs in pod either.Bob Lawrence

By the way, when canoeing I use 5 gallon plastic buckets with the spin
on lids (lids available at hardware stores of US Plastics). I had a
couple of them in the storage pod this summer. So if you're worried
about water or critters put your stuff in 5 gallon buckets.

We have two storage pods on top. The larger of the two, the forward one, is
filled with clothing, which we keep in plastic containers and Wal-Mart
shopping bags. The smaller rear one is for spare parts and misc. items. In 10
years of full time living in here, we have not had a problem with 1) moisture,
2) heat 3) insects. But these were expensive, the large one costing upwards
of $500 plus and the smaller about $300something, this were at 1995 prices, I
am sure they are a bit more now. I think this is one of the areas where you
get what you pay for. No cracks no dings to problem.
