Condo RV Lots???
We have a full hookup RV space about 60 miles East of Melbourne,
Australia if anyone cares to stop by. It is next to our house but all
concrete and large enough to hold a 40 footer. Also there are many
places to free camp in Australia; a great country to drive around.
Diesel is a bit high right now; about $1.59 per liter. In the USA, I
am fortunate enough to be a retired military so we do not need a
condo lot or escapees as there are Famcamps at most military
reservations with reasonable rates. Sure glad I went in to the
military in 1959! LOL

PS any more discussion on Hank's OZ Bird idea? 10-12 birders buy a
1979 or older FC31 and bring it over and tour and see Australia etc.

Yeah, the idea of the OZ Bird sounds cool. Lots to see down there,I
guess. An older Bird would not have to be converted to right hand
drive either.. But what about those "Road Trains"? Wouldn't they
blow you right off the road?
I do know of an older FC31 can be gotten.
And, it's in SoCal too :-)

Condo RV Lots???
Just some thoughts onthe Condo RV lotsubject. I also own a lot at www.mysaltpringsresort.com in the Ocala National Forest. It has worked out well for maintaining my Fla. residency for health insurance and tax reasons. It's one of the bigger lots in a quiet part of the park. I had it rented out through the developer and now it is rented for the next year on a monthly basis. At this park the lots aremany different sizes and locations so some are more popular and valuable than others. So it helps to keep this in mind if you are looking to buy anywhere.
Someone mentioned www.Bluewaterkey.comoutside of Key West. It is very nice and the lots are now selling (or for sale) at about $500k. I looked a few years ago and they were about $150k. So I guess that would have been a good
investment. It is a small park only 70 to 80 lots and if you want to stay there in thewinter you need to own a lot as there are none for rent.
Another nice place is www.riverbendfla.com byFt. Myers.
I guess in summery owningone lot for a home base isn't a bad idea, especially of it can be rentedto help with expenses. These can add up withmonthly fees, electric, water, and properly taxes. In Florida it is nice just to own a concrete slab come hurricane season. Otherwiseunless there is a place where you want to spend a lot of time and there are no rental lots available I doubt if you would be ahead buying a lot versus the flexibility and costof just renting.
