Interesting after X-mas buy
I just got back from Radio Shack and then double checked on line.
There are a few mini-laptops out (screen size 7-10 inches) running Windows XP for well under $500 (Tiger Direct $299). They can run GPS programs, WiFi, eMail calendars and other very useful stuff for Birders. Just thought I'd give everyone a heads-up. We've already got one otherwise would be buying. Wave, GPSgary |

Interesting after X-mas buy
Carol Dupree really liked my little MSI Wind - wonder if Randy had to spring for
one of the sort for Christmas? ![]() The category started out being called UMPC, for something like Ultra Miniature PC, but the name that seems to be sticking is "net book." Mine has a 10-inch screen, 1GB Ram, 80GB HD (newer ones have more), and a keyboard that is 93% of full-size. 3 USB ports, built-in webcam and WiFi, and weighs 2.2 lbs.
