Generator radiator hose
My 12.5 generator is in need of some new radiator hoses. I searched on
the internet trying to find these hoses in the longer length. As you know, these hoses just appear to be straight wire reinforced 2" hose. But, they need to be quite long and I was unable to find them online (I could have been looking in the wrong place). Or, is this something I can just walk into NAPA (or any other parts store) and have them order? I'm just not sure if this is supposed to be something special for the BB or if it's generic hose and I don't want to buy the wrong thing. Thanks. Jerry 85 PT40 Port Hueneme, CA |

Generator radiator hose
I replaced mine last year, took the old hose to NAPA and they sold me
an appropriate length of hose they cut out of a bulk box. You are right that it is just regular 2" hose. One tip...be as accuate as possible on length, the problem with being too short is obvious, but being too long also creates trouble as the hose can get bound up behind the gen slide if there is too much slack. Generator radiator hose
Scott,
Thanks. I'll take off the hoses before going to the parts store to make sure I get the right size. Generator radiator hose
Jerry,
If it is the wire wound Gates yellow stripe 1" hose, NAPA has 10 foot lengths, they will cut to your size, part # 800 not cheap at about $20. per foot,, BB used this hose for high heat resistance and making tight turns, Standard car / truck hose will collapse in a 90 degree turn. If it is 2" radiator hose, most any parts store will match it.
