Nothing like a little luck!
After many years with no 110vac electrical problems our Wanderlodge started tripping GFI's. First occasionally then constantly. Even with nothing turned on theGFI would trip. I laid out my plan to locate the problem, hooked up an external charger so I could have lights without running the batteries down (I was getting ready for a long procedure!). Finally I disconnected the rear AC from the Wanderlodge and attached a line cord so I could keep my cool. Start the tests but no ground fault! Plugged the coach back in and the GFI did not trip. Had one of those light blub moments and plugged the rear AC into an outlet in the bedroom and promptly tripped the GFI. Turned out to be the heater in the AC. It is not much good as a heater so I disconnected it and all is well! I was ready for a long day of it but it took longer to put the line cord on the AC than it did to find and fix the problem. My projects usually do not go this easily!
(If you are wondering why the AC was not plugged into a GFI to start with at our storage location several coaches share one 20amp circuit. Starting a AC unit will trip the breaker. The charger and the ACwas running off a portable generator in the back of my truck.)
