Need help running DC wires in an FC
I feel silly, but I can't find an easy way to pass three 12 guage
wires from inside the bus, under the steering wheel, to the house battery bank directly beneth it. It's mighty tight in there. What am I missing? I know one thing. I could really use the assistance of a 3 foot midgit. This is a job for a contorsionist. My aging body is sore all over... Here is what I'm doing -- I need to supply 12 power to 1) 400 Watt Pure sine wave inverter 2) 200 Watt 2-way radio and 3) 100 Watt stereo amp. Thanks in advance. -James 78FC33SB LasVegas NV |

Open up the drivers side front swing out compartment, feed the wires
under the dash to the outside. On the lower right of that compartment you should have 3 large relays that has enough room around them to feed the wires down into the battery box. tom Warner 1982 Fc35 Vernon Center,NY At 02:56 PM 2/23/2006, you wrote: >I feel silly, but I can't find an easy way to pass three 12 guage >wires from inside the bus, under the steering wheel, to the house >battery bank directly beneth it. > >It's mighty tight in there. Thank you, Stephen.
I have removed the access plate and I can see daylight !! Oh Joy !! I plan on drilling a small hole in the access plate to send the runs through it and then I will remount it. There isn't anything wrong with that is there? Thanks again, Steve. Thanks, Tom.
I am not sure what you mean by the driver side swing out compartment. Are you talking about the panel on the front of the steering coluum, or is there another access somewhere else? -James 78FC33SB LasVegas NV --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, Tom Warner wrote: > > Open up the drivers side front swing out compartment, feed the wires > under the dash to the outside. James, what the guys are talking about is on the OUTSIDE of the coach
there are three panels one for each side behind the headlight they swing open and one big panel to open for access to the radiator this panel must be lifted off. These panels are for access. In other words if you stood in front of the bus then opened the driver side panel you would see the steering column, the fuel pedal, break pedal, "load center" (circut breakers etc..lots of wires)That is where they are saying to run the wires...pretty easy access actually. This would be a great time to "snoop around" in there when the access panel is swung open don't pull wires loose though!!.. NOTE: When retightening the bolts to close the front up it is a great time to add "never sieze" material to the threads of the bolts so you don't strip out the Riv-nuts. I am talking about the swing out doors on the front where the
headlights are mounted. There are 1/4 X 20 hex head bolts that hold it on. Remove them and the door swings out revealing circuit breakers etc. tom At 03:50 PM 2/23/2006, you wrote: >Thanks, Tom. > >I am not sure what you mean by the driver side swing out >compartment. Thanks, Tom Scott and Stephen.
The job is now done and in quicker fashion with your help. My new stereo and 2-way radio are both cranking at full speed.
