Randy; Today I figured out how to put the voltage regulator into the
generator without removing the generator.It takes approx 2.5 hours to
prep to remove the old regulator , reinstall the new regulator and
reinstall the cover.you slide the gen out as far as it will go. then
you crawl in behind the gen set , you can sit on a cross member.( note
it helps to be quite small)you then remove all the screws in the cover,
the 3rd screw hole you notch out the screw hole and bend back the cover
and it will lift out,( you will have to loosen the exhaust pipe
bracket) this will open up the control box with the voltage
regulator ,breakers, fuzes and all in inner workings ,and this will
give space to work on the gen. after your done then you put back the
cover and bend it back in place,I put silcon around the notched area
and put an oversized washer on the screw. Dave 91 WLWB 40
