Caterpillar RV Centers
Eric- everytime I have been in a Cat dealership with my FC, I have felt like
a bad stepchild. The selling of parts is true- they like that but when we mention RV- there goes the great reception. Ernie Ekberg 83 PT40 Livingston, Montana [Non-text portions of this message have been removed] |

Caterpillar RV Centers
I was impressed recently by the Caterpillar 24/7 hotline that helped me locate
the nearest source of Cat antifreeze when I needed some in Colorado. I decided to check out their RV website. On it they claim to have 90 RV centers across the U.S. that offer the following: - 24/7 Emergency Assistance - Clean Bays with drop cloths, booties, etc for RV Interior Protection - Clean, comfortable waiting room with Cable TV & Internet Access - Power Tech generator repair service - Dump station, LP station, Complimentary water & electrical hookups I thought, WOW, this could be real handy. Then I saw that Holt, out local Cat dealer, is on the list. In reality, these guys are strictly industrial. They're glad to sell me parts but have no interest in working on an RV 3208 Cat. I once used a Cat dealer in Lake Charles to do a valve adjustment and injector replacement and they did a good job ($2,400) but they didn't really like to handle RV work. Has anyone had a good experience with a Cat shop, RV or otherwise? Is Caterpillar just blowing smoke? I don't see any of their shops listed in the service database. Eric in San Antonio 84FC35SBWL2 |

Caterpillar RV Centers
Cat dealers have some of ther highest labor rates in the nation. They
are not RV friendly. This is a PR job as they want to sell more powerplants in MH's. Did you know there are only 240 Cat dealers in the ENTIRE world. Definitely a license to print money! Bruce 1988 FC35 |
