dash generator start/stop switch wiring
On my 78FC33 the gen start/stop switch would only stop the genset, not
start it. The wiring diagram shows a DPDT switch, one side used for
start and the other used for stop. My kitches switch is wired that way,
but the dash switchis different. My dash switch is a DPDT with two
extra lugs (8 connections in all). It seems that both the stop and
start is run from one side of the DPDT. I moved the three connections
to the other side of the switch and now it works. So that solved the
imediate problem.

What I don't understand is what are the other two connections? There
are wires connected, but I don't know where they go. Has anyone seen
this style switch or know the function of the extra lugs?

Glowplugs ???. is the extra side momentary? maybe the switch was a
after factory replacement???. I have a 110 light switch in one
dumptruck that runs the fan overide, not a ford item.

Gardner:
84 blueprint shows an 8 pin switch. attached you will find a schematic
drawing which is redrawn from the wiring diagram. Hope this helps.

Bill,
Thanks, I will check my e-mail when I get home. I have een going
over my documentation/drawings with a magnifying glass (literaly)and
I am slowly beginning to follow things. I just need to physically
locate many of the junctions, dtc.
