Parts east and south

Hello Everyone,
Tomorrow we are leaving for parts East and South of Arkansas. We
don't know where, but two weeks worth anyway. We plan to be on the
East Coast for at least part of that time. I told the wife to tell me
the way to go as we leave the driveway. We will most likely be at the
birds nest sometime while we are at it.
We may go to Key West or not. May go to Hilton Head or not.
Has anybody got any suggestions of must see places in southeast US?
