tach drive
Hi. Does anyone know the brand and where I might be able to purchase
the tach generator on a DD 6V92. It looks like a mushroom with 2 wires and is located on the engine near the valve covers Thanks a bunch Vaughn 1982 PT40 |

Since you did not give your location, it is hard to be specific,
however, any Detroit dealer/distributor should be able to fulfill your need. Also Most speedometer shops carry all kinds of instrumentation and related senders. I have usually found them to be the most economical. George Lowry '95 WBDA 4203 & GM 4106 (for sale) Spearfish, SD Vaughn Paul wrote: > Hi. I believe that George is on the right track. If they are the senders
with one end capped (cable in/out), I have used vehicle speed sensor/senders I raided out of Prince On Board Computers, they were also used as cruise-control speed sensors. Otherwise there is always the old BlueBird parts department, ... - Jeff Miller http://www.wanderlodge.net http://www.millercoachworks.com --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, George Lowry wrote: > Since you did not give your location, it is hard to be specific, > however, any Detroit dealer/distributor should be able to fulfill your > need. I am near Missoula, MT. The DD dealer here could not provide any
assistance, and Earl at BB was at a lose. thanks a bunch --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Jeff Miller" > I believe that George is on the right track. I bought mine from Holland Motorhomes in Holland, MI.
It was a used part. I would bet that a Detroit Dealer worth its salt would be able to find you one. What is your tach doing? Here are a few ideas:
http://www.ptcpower.com/inventory_detroit_engines.aspx http://www.clarkedda.com/ http://www.detroitdiesel.com/index.asp http://www.scharfco.com/default.htm This last one would be my favorite place to shop for great used parts. They have been in business a very long time and are honorable. Jay Darst 85PT40 6V92 SpringfieldIL --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Vaughn Paul" wrote: > The tach is dead. If it's the little drive tang, it is just an insert. The insert /
adapter pin should be available from a speedometer shop. I might not be thinking of the right sender though, ... call Ken at HMH in Holland and he might be able to get one for you. --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Vaughn Paul" wrote: > The tach is dead.
