81FC35 air suspension:
Can someone tell me how the auto-leveling system works? I was told that
after start-up with air pressure up to turn auto-leveling switch on. When I drive, the indicater light for the right rear flashes green every 30 seconds or so. With the switch off no lights flash. The book only tells me I have an auto-leveling system. Vic Engstrom Camano Island WA 81FC35 |

81FC35 air suspension:
Vic,
The lights for leveling on the dash are for the jacks. When everything works correctly, the blue lights on the dash are supposed to illuminate when that corner of the coach is leveled, but you still have to actuate the jacks with the joysticks. It isn't really "automatic". It you have air suspension (I can't remember about an 81), the air bags level themselves as you drive utilizing three height control valves, one at each rear wheel (rear height and side-to-side) and one on the front axle (front height). This happens without any input from you as the driver (i.e. no flipping any switches). This system is only for ride height leveling, it has nothing to do with getting level when parked. The leveling switch on the dash is the master for the jacks system, it should be off when driving. When I had my 82 FC, I leveled like this: 1) With suspension still up, actuate joystick to make each jack kick down 2) Dump air suspension 3) Actuate jacks to level using old-fashioned sigh bubbles, my blue lights were not reliable.
