Transmission part number
Since my coach had a 250 turbo installed later on, and I believe the
original was an NA, the current transmission is likley the wrong one for the engine. The shift points at minimum will be different, and some internal parts could be different as well (according to the Jasper representative). Anyway, now that it has failed I need to replace it. So does anyone have a coach that was shipped with a 250 turbo and have the tranny serial# and part#? IfI go for an Allison or a Jasper I will need the same information to get the right one installed. P.S. The Jasper warranty is 1 year labor and 2 years parts. cost approx. $3,392 The Allison is 2 years parts and labor and towing if it is installed by an Allison dealer. Just a comment on Trannys....When my 80FC31 tranny blew.... the "plate" was already broken for the third time....turns out tranny had the wrong SPRINGS in it from th BB factory long ago...... the tranny was shifting at 2800rpm causing a lot of stress on the plate...when it blew..they ordered the same tranny number and at first I had the same problem until I had them change the springs so it shifted at 2300 rpm...it is OK now.....But the SPRINGS were the problem..STRIKER PLATE CRAKED THREE TIMES...... regards, Hank 90SP36 --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Gardner Yeaw" wrote: > > Since my coach had a 250 turbo installed later on, and I believe the > original was an NA, the current transmission is likley the wrong one > for the engine. Transmission part number
I have arranged to have Good Sam contact a tow service (on their
dime) to take it to Nicholas-Wymoning Truck in Luzerne PA. on Wednesday. Nicholas-Wyoming Truck is certified by Allison on the MT600 series, knows it is an air suspension bus, knows what to do and is happy to do the work. I spoke with the service manager at Stadium and he said they don't have the right equipment to handle it. We agreed that it would create a dangerous situation for his crew and the job was better handled by someone with experience on these vehicles. Nice guy, I just wish they had said that sooner. So with luck and money I will have my baby back home in it's nest soon. I will be going out there tomorrow to oversee the towing and grind out the fine details with Nicholas-Wyoming. Thanks to all for taking the time to respond to my plight. I needed it to maintain my sanity. I now have a much better background to deal with the new place and know more of what I need to know discuss the job before they start working on it.
