Funny you ask, temp on Saturday 36 degrees, fired up the boilers Saturday
night. Still trying to sort out if I have immersion heaters or not. I'd
like it or a copy.

one way to tell if you have immerison heat is to push the last 2
buttons on the right( while on shore pwr) and see if you get a jump
in the amps used. a jump means your immerison is working. you can
call steve birtles with dupree products. he is somewhat of an expert

My invoice is stored away and cannot find it right now. I believe it was around $3500 which included the equipment, labor, conversion from double loop to single loop, engine block heat and making the heat exchanger fans work correctly. I decided to do it when I began having to jack with my Primus system, buying parts etc. The Wabasto has been great. Easy maintenance, simple operation and good support. You can install it yourself if you are handy. At the time I was not yet comfortable with BB systems so I had Coachcraft in Columbus, GA install it. I might try it myself today. I would save a few bucks.

thanks Le-roy. That price doesn't sound too high, especially if I would try that myself. I am looking right now at some parts for the primus, and Mark Dexter is going to call me back to see what he has. I kind of like the idea NOT to have to depend on an orphan system for heat. If I come to a decesion, i may have to call on you, since you must be a heck of a mechanic, judging byt some of the forum posts.
And I did miss the Appalachian Trail beginnings last time due to late fall, low fuel in the southern states etc. would have liked to meet you in person.

Any time I can help just email me. The email is on the post. When the Primus works it is fine and if it were working I probably would leave it as is. The Webasto is far superior based on my experience.

I meant to tell you also, we just returned from the Blue Ridge Parkway and never saw such beautiful fall colors. Your area must be just as pretty.
I am inclined to agree with you on that Primus. I think I will give it one good chance by cleaning, replacing bad parts and hoping for the best. Even Randy mentioned once that he would prefer the LP if he had it still. If no luck, then comes Webasto.
