Yeah, had a friend with a 'Vette mechanical fuel-injected 350 in the
front, ... fit under the lid, cover-story car for Hot Rod or
something back then (late '70s).

A good friend just had the VR6 conversion done to a Vanagon Syncro,
we should be picking it up next week. Easy to convert the Vasserboxer
units, lots of the plumbing is already in place.

The Porsche conversion is a good one for the original boxers, had a
friend with the 3.0 turbo/aftercooled in his, I didn't drive it but
it sure sounded nice.

Yikes, I just sold a really clean 1970 VW Bus last Saturday.
I did not know it was a great tow vehicle. It was like a hippy van.
We had owned it for almost 20 years. It was a week-end camper ( bed
with no pop roof). We also sold the beat-up Vanagon a few years
back. Jeff it is on your side of the state. You could try to find it.
But we now have some room in the barn for more toys. Smile
