A litle Hi from us and WELCOME to SALLY Re: window frames
Hello Sally,
And WELCOME to the amazing life of BlueBird owners! We are relatively new here also and have been fulltimers for about three months now. We are still "shedding" our home furniture, and three storages of goodies so we can be free of the ties to land. We will be sailing off to Auburn in a month. We have figured a few things out. It take patience and a LOT OF HELP from the incredibly generous and knowledgeable people in this forum. I have to give a shout out to PHIL -who is my personal Hero. His assistance and persistence helping us as we drove our "Blue" home from Kentucky, was without a doubt the best thing we could have had. He is an angel. He also made finding our Bird SO much more efficient and technically sound for us. He shared tons of info with us and pointed out different things/trade offs on each coach we were thinking about. There are always trade offs, but buying a sound Bird was in a large part due to his pre-sale assistance so we found our PERFECT Bird. Phil is a wealth of caring and information. And when we get our bird on the road, we shall hunt Phil down and take him and his wife to the best dinner we can find. I have to thank so many others who have always tried to help when we had questions. This forum and its members are huge BLESSINGS! We are so sad that we didn't get to go meet everyone at Q. I owe Phil a big hug and a bigger THANK YOU -- and that Lobster Dinner I promised! My point being, this forum is filled with terrific, talented, giving, helping, and warm people! WELCOME!!! Blessed to be here, hugs, Light and Dennis 1991 PT WB --currently in Santa Cruz for another month (ish) then off to Auburn to look for work. PS...Anyone know of any construction projects that are in need of a very talented construction superintendent or the like? From the largest to the smallest, we are good at building things! Have BB, will travel... --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, sally brustowicz <sbrustowicz@...> wrote: > > The coach is a 1993 WL WB PT. > We recently bought it.. I have been told that BB made the windows in the mid 90's coaches. (Maybe even earlier years???) All the finishes I have seen on the outside of the window frame have been an anodized finish. The fact that you mentioned that something was peeling makes me think that someone may have painted those frames. Anodizing doesn't peel as far as I know. Anodizing is an oxidizing process that forms a layer of "rust" on the surface. It's possible that the anodizing is wearing off but this doesn't occur as peeling so far as I know. There is a rubber seal that goes around the window. I doubt if that is peeling. > > > > > > I can't comment on a BB logo on your door. Thanks for the warm welcome. Everyone has been so nice and yes very helpful. We are going thru the learning process, so it's a lot of fun. Ted and I are previous boaters so we've been thru similar experiences with boats..
Looking forward to meeting all of you in the future. Thanks, Sally Brustowicz 1993 WL WB PT 40 Niceville Fl

A litle Hi from us and WELCOME to SALLY Re: window frames
Hi Sally,
Captain D and I were also former sailboaters. We just sold our 46' Cal sailboat. We loved it, but living on it was tough. We spent years upgrading and getting her into great shape and then sold her. LOL Basically, sold yacht, bought Land Yacht. We are SO happy with our Blue! Lots to learn... but very fun and fulfilling getting to know our Blue. Happy Trails... hope to see you on the road someday.
