Had an interesting side trip to Navarro's Auto Body Shop in Algodones
yesterday. I had heard some good things about this shop (mainly prices) so I
thought I'd drop in and take a look. Enrique, the owner, was more than happy
to take me through the entire shop to show me his paint products (he also
sells paint to locals) and the works he had in progress. In the paint booth
was a completed BB just waiting for clear coat (late 80s PT38). I'm no expert
so all I can say is the job looked good to me. I was told the entire bird was
hand sanded and that the job had taken 2 weeks to date. Like I said it only
lacked clear coat and that is planned for today. Enrique told me that if I
wanted a similar job the cost would be arround $6K. They didn't remove the
awnings or goat rails so if I was planning on getting a complete paint job I
think I would pay the extra to have the hardware removed. I don't know who
owns the Bird in the booth and didn't ask. Maybe the owner is a member here
and will chime in.
