RV Update #136
October 1, 2010
The job in Glenwood Springs gave us a run for our money â
two days before we were scheduled to leave, we still hadnât made minimum. Then
all hell broke loose and Lisa sold 5 ads in one day and we exceeded last yearâs
numbers â with 2 more possibilities still out there. Go figure.
We had a beautiful 2-day drive on I-70 through Utah. We had
never been through the San Rafael Swell before â awesome rock formations and
interesting geography. We stayed over night in Ritchfield, UT and ran into a
couple we had met in Rock Springs. I went with them to the Utah State Old Time Fiddlers
Convention to see the winnerâs concert â excellent fiddle playing. The youngest
player was a 5-year old girl and the oldest was in his 80s. They all played
Orange Blossom Special together for the finale and it brought the house down.
We are now in Vegas for our 3-park job. Itâs been over 100
degrees every day â supposed to cool off over the weekend. Canât wait â the AC
has been working overtime. In our spare time we have been RV shopping â we love
the bus, but it is time to get something with slides â weâre tired of tripping
all over each other. We hope to find a good deal here â there are lots of
dealers and many used ones from which to choose.
My birthday celebration continues â my mom and a bunch of
friends are coming in for 2 weeks on Oct 16th, and we are going to
party hearty while they are here. You only turn 60 once and I want to remember
this birthday so I can top it when I hit 70.
