ATTN: Yahoo Users and Yahoo Group Members - Important!
I recently received this info and I successfully opted out
Just thought I'd share, in case you dont want to be tracked. This is a onetime post and I will NOT be reposting.. I apologize if I violated any posting rules, just thought all Yahoo Group members had a right to know. ~~~~~~~~~ If you belong to any Yahoo Groups this is important information: Yahoo is now using something called "Web Beacons" to track Yahoo Group users around the net and see what you're doing and where you are going similar to cookies. Yahoo is recording every website and every group you visit. Take a look at their updated privacy statement: http://privacy. yahoo.com/ privacy <http://privacy. yahoo.com/ privacy> About half-way down the page, in the section on cookies, you will see a link that says web beacons. Click on the phrase web beacons. That will bring you to a paragraph entitled "Outside the Yahoo Network." In this section you'll see a little "click here to opt out" link that will let you "opt-out" of their new method of snooping. Once you have clicked that link, you are exempted. Notice the "Success" message on the top of the next page. Be careful because on that page there is a "Cancel Opt-out" button that, if clicked, will *undo** the opt-out. This link is a direct link to their privacy statement and will also allow you to adjust any other options you wish to have or not to have. |

Whew: Hi there big brother. Hey Mike, you see this? Here we are talking about
nuts and bolts and some nut tells us to watch out. Crazy. Wonder if the guy is a Viet Nam vet. I am. Leroy, Please excuse my candor here. But Jim has been a contributing
member of this and other forums, long before you started to post. I am not sure when you joined this forum as I am not a moderator of this forum. My bet is he has been a member long before you as well. I for one take exception with your comments. HE CERTAINLY IS NOT "SOME NUT", and being a Viet Nam vet has nothing to do with his post, or the "netiquete" of this forum. Guys,
I am currently in Cheyenne, WY for about 20 hours or so before moving on, so I am just seeing the messages for today. Time to move on from this message thread please. For any new internet users: Yes, web beacons exist on Yahoo. This was first discussed about three years ago on the net. The message is correct. Not new news, but correct. Not Bird related, but correct. Look, in cyber space, your every move is being tracked. If you don't understand "cookies" or IP addresses or web beacons or search engines or web crawlers or whatever, you can google search to find out more about them. Of course your google search will be catlogued and filed by google and may be subject to government request years from now. Doesn't matter if you are in China or the US. But this forum is for Bird related discussions, so let's get back to that please. Thanks, Mike Bulriss 1991 WB40 "Texas Minivan" San Antonio, TX - currently in Cheyenne, WY --- In WanderlodgeForum@yahoogroups.com, "Scott" > > Leroy, Please excuse my candor here. Scott: My apologies. The e-mail I received was not signed. As an individual I
would not intentionally offend anyone connected with this Forum. All are fellow BBers. Accordingly, I had no idea the person was a current or prior contributor. Tenure had nothing to do with the response. I thought it was a person who cracked into the Forum. That can happen, you certainly can understand that. I'm certainly not one to remain quiet and if I am not welcome here I can go back to doing what I was doing before I came. No hard feelings. Again my apologies, and your welcome to forward this response to the person that posted the message because he said he would not re-post. Yet another reason for me to be suspect! If you would like, I will respond further to the post off forum at jwasnewski@... Your correct, this is not a political forum.
